Maya's Princess and The Frog Party

Bonjour Simply Panache Blog Readers,

Our Princess Party winner, Princess Maya, had a royal celebration as we also celebrated her 9th birthday. Of course, the party was themed after Disney's newest Princess Movie "The Princess and The Frog". As the sounds of New Orleans rang in the background, Princess Maya and her Royal Court were treated to Gator Fingers (Creole Chicken Strips with Honey Mustard ), Zydeco Pasta(Shrimp Pasta Salad),French Bread, Swamp Water(Sparkling Punch) and Cupcakes with Edible Butterflies. The party favors were gorgeous Mardi Gras masks which the princesses crafted. The grand finale of the party was when Princess Maya and her Royal Court were escorted in true princess grandeur to a viewing of "The Princess and the Frog" movie in their very own private chariot (a stretch Excursion limousine). Here are a few pics from a classy yet chic babyshower we recently planned and designed. When the photographers pictures are available we hope to add a few more.

We used ribbon to create a sash for the chiavari chairs.

The centerpeices were glass baby bottles with freshly-cut roses, a greenery filled mint julep cup and a baby jar with a tealight candle for illumination.

At each place setting, a milk bath party favor for each guest.

Our princess is a princess at heart. She loves all the pretty things in life. Yet there is so much more to our princess. Our princess enjoys singing. reading, tap, ballet and playing the clarinet. Maya’s affected if friends are wronged and if she wrongs someone else. She wrote a prayer asking God to forgive her for any friends’ feelings she had hurt. She is a perceptive child that is able to feel when others are in need of love and attention. While she loves to look good she understands that life is about God, family, friendships, and outreach.

In her short period of gracing our courts she has brought love, laughter and pride to my family unit as we come together to nurture her first steps. Her strength and tenacity in exploring life is inspiring. As a parent I want to instill in her that she is worthy of all the love and admiration her heart can hold, and she is smart and capable to accomplish her dreams. Soleil is an awesome big sister! Since the birth of her brother, she hasn't had alone time with mommy, and has handled sharing mommy very well. Soleil deserves to spend some girl time with mommy and friends, and get pampered for being such a sport. Xavier is 1 ½ years younger,and we worried about issues of jealousy. Soleil has not been a jealous big sister, and makes sure her baby brother is taken care of. She always help feed him, get him dressed, and discipline him. If we didn't know any better, we would've thought that she was his mother!

Jada, a very spunky 10-year old twin and the youngest of two brothers. Rolling with the best of them-she doesn't mind playing football, basketball or any other sport that interest her. Jada enjoys cheering, ice skating and track, her grades are excellent and complimentary. She is very helpful to her brothers and I. As much as I try to show my appreciation for all she does I could NEVER thank her enough. I thank God for all my children, but I am most thankful that he supplies me with all my needs- and God knows I needed "her".

We are planning a Sweet Sixteen party for one fab (Christa) teen. Our clients love Simply Panache's original CD invitation and Christa was excited to get in the studio and record her vocals for the invite. Check out the insert cover below.

Front: We hired a makeup artist to give Christa this glam 16 look. We brought in our disco balls and a photographer so Christa could have a little fun with the camera. Our graphic designer always brings it all together with Panache!

Peace, Love and Soul

Hey Simply Panache Blog Readers,

It's Kesha and I would like to share a few pics from my daughter's 8th birthday parties. This year (the party in Houston where the majority of our family lives) was all about Peace, Love and Soul. We rented an event facility because there was space needed for the Karaoke DJ and The Houston Rockets Breakdancers The Viscous Germz Crew . However, with the event space came a challenge. Challenge, absolutely NO hanging or stapling decorations anywhere. PERIOD! So what do we do when our decor options are limited ? We get creative.

First, we asked our graphic design artist to create this logo and a logo of my daughter's name.

Second, we called our go to people for all things vinyl and asked them to create removable custom peel and stick vinyl from the logo files. We also added dots for vibrance.

Here's a closer shot of the vinyl logo.

The Viscous Germz Crew did not waste time getting the party started!

We also hung curtains in coordinating colors, on removable rods of course.

After the breakdancing performance the little party goers were ready to show their moves on the pink carpet.

We are giving away three prizes in celebration of Disney's newest Princess, Princess Tiana from Disney's newest animated movie The Princess and the Frog in theaters December 11, 2009. We asked our graphic artist to design this logo for the (CD invitations), cake topper and party favors.

The guest arrived on the black carpet surrounded by 3ft martini glasses.

The centerpieces were illuminated with purple lights(our clients favorite color).

As Andre Agassi said in the 80's Cannon commercial "Image is everything" and we agree. So for our first vendor focus we are highlighting Larry Perez Signs & Graphix. We called on Larry's to design and print new business cards. Below is the sample proof.

In living color, the colors are very vibrant and the print and logo have an added texture while the rest of the card has a matte finish.

The guys at Larry's Perez Signs & Graphix are very customer friendly and ensure that you are completely satisfied.

Above is a sample proof of the side of the custom wrap Larry's created for our 12 foot trailer almost a year ago. We, along with our staff, use our trailer as a creative way to advertise while transporting items (decorations, linen, tables, chairs, stanchions etc.) from our warehouse to various events.

Martini glasses are a fabulous and fun way to serve personalized potato creations.

Mashed Potato Bar : Mashed Potatoes, Shrimp Newberg, Chicken Fricassee and (chives, sour cream, shredded cheddar and diced tomatoes) Toppings.

We created this logo for the hair studio and we used the logo on the water bottle labels.

For the centerpieces we painted wig heads and added fresh flowers to recreate some of the hair studio's signature styles.

We are planning and coordinating the five year anniversary celebration for
Zayd's Hair Studio. This three day event will kick off Friday with a meet and greet where all studio clients are invited to join the stylists for a lavish mashed potato martini bar and mini spa sessions. A family friendly block party is planned for Saturday complete with a stage where comedians, poets and musicians will entertain the community. Sunday is Funday and clients and stylists will partake in a fun game of laser tag. Stay tuned for pics from Friday's meet and greet.

We made a touchdown with this Co-Ed Babyshower! We went with a football theme to celebrate the arrival of the couple's baby boy.
(We added crystals to the mirrored football topper and handmade the football cupcake picks)

Of course we added a little bling to the football theme with the centerpieces!

The guests really got a KicK out of the dessert bar!

Remembering Mr.Harold

Jazzy 50th Wedding Anniversary

We were honored and delighted to work with this couple who celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary. The ceremony took place at The Eldorado Ballroom where the couple met fifty years ago, a classic Houston hot spot in the fifties where the likes of Ray Charles, Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald, Etta James and many others performed.

The bride donned a beautiful dress embellished with pearls and lace, as she accessorized with her gold satin gloves. Her bouquet was a play off of the table centerpieces, ostrich plumes grouped with red roses. While the groom was very dapper in a traditional three piece suit.

At each table setting we placed cookies that the bride's sister personally baked (a family favorite) that we wrapped in tulle and ribbon.

We had so much fun making these ostrich feather centerpieces that highlighted the "Jazzy" theme.

The colors of the event were inspired by their original wedding china, that was also used at the head table for the bride, groom and their wedding party. Their wedding china is simply panache after fifty years. ;-)

The cake by The Brownie Pan was three layers of fabulousness! One layer with a lemon filling, one pineapple and another raspberry topped with a white chocolate cream cheese icing. Delish!

Hey Blogworld !

We are Simply Panache Events, an event planning company owned by three dynamic, innovative and creative women. All three of us have varied backgrounds from television production to ICU nurse to family physician and it is this variety that gives Simply Panache such a dynamic edge. We three are like sisters and we have fun coming together (we live in 3 different cities and 2 different states) to plan and execute a variety of different events. We have been in business, officially, since April 2007 and in these past two years we have had the honor and distinction of planning all type of events from the typical private events such as weddings and birthday parties to the more exotic quinceañeras and bar mitzvahs to the less typical funeral receptions. We have also planned corporate events of varying levels of complexity from album release parties to land developers’ events to conventions.

The part of event planning that we enjoy the most are the relationships that we develop with our clients, many of whom go on to become our friends. We are very excited to be joining the blog world and we want to give back to the blog community. In addition to blogging about our happenings, we also want to establish a special place where all of us in the same profession, other event planners, wedding planners/coordinators and event consultants plus all of our related vendors, florists, photographers, DJs, Rental companies, etc. can get together to network and connect with each other. We are a Texas-based firm that was born when two friends who routinely planned personalized parties for their friends and families began to receive overwhelming requests, even from strangers, to plan events for them.
